Austin State University Peay Continuing Education to Offer Financial Literacy Course This Fall – Clarksville Online

Clarksville, TN – The Department of Continuing Education at Austin Peay State University (APSU) is proud to announce a new course for this fall focused on managing personal finances.

Taught by retired Tennessee State Auditor Susan Paisley, Financial Literacy is intended to help teens over 16 and young adults avoid the pitfalls that many face when first starting out.




The seven-week course will provide students with knowledge of how credit cards work, budgeting for income, applying for a mortgage, considering interest rates on loans, and how to get started. other relevant information on the ins and outs of personal finance.

The Financial Literacy course will take place from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, on the APSU campus. The cost to attend the course is $200.00 for the entire seven week session. The course is open to the public and students are not required to be registered as university students. Participants must be at least 16 years old to participate.

APSU’s Continuing Education Department offers non-credit courses that do not require a student to be enrolled in the college track. Courses include certification-type courses such as Phlebotomy Technician, Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), American Sign Language, and other career and workforce training and certifications.
