Kendrick Lamar, Ray Dalio Star In Cash App Ad For Financial Literacy – VIBE.com
Kendrick Lamar and pgLang push financial literacy with their new collaboration with Cash App. Last week, the mobile payment platform unveiled a new advert featuring Compton rapper, billionaire investor Ray Dalio and comedian Exavier TV.
The Cash App spot directed by Dave Free sees Kendrick serve as a translator for the pair as they discuss the struggles of becoming financially free. Exavier reveals he wastes his money on games, and Dailo recommends the comedian “start small and invest in himself.”
Kendrick echoed the billionaire’s sentiments on Twitter while promoting the Cash App announcement with just a tweet. “Invest in yourself @pglang,” the “Mr. Morale” typed the rapper.
And with his new venture, pgLang is doing just that: investing in himself.
Kendrick Lamar and close friend Dave Free launched pgLang in March 2021. The duo called it a service company, laying foundations in music, film, TV, art, books and podcasts.
“Our community talks about music, movies, TV, art, books and podcasts – because sometimes we have to use different languages to get the message of our stories across,” the statement read. “Stories that speak to many nations, many races and many times. That’s why our writers, singers, directors, musicians and producers break formats when we build ideas and make them real for the curious.
